We rent our home so over the last few years I have been unmotivated to make changes. Then with a third on the way I knew we needed to freshen things up before the baby arrived. I was so grateful for Redi-Cut Carpet in Westport as I was in dire need of new carpets in our bedroom and the girls’ bedroom. Their inventory is impressive and their prices are not to be beat. Brothers Alan and Fred Arnowich who own Redi-Cut are a pleasure to work with.

I’ve also included some final pictures of baby John’s new nursery. He is completely spoiled and sleeping in a bassinet in our room so he has yet to actually sleep in this room but his dad has decided it’s time so I am glad it is finally finished. I love taking a peek inside peoples homes so I thought you all might like to see what’s going on these days in my home.

In our room we had an old carpet that had seen a better day. I found a great neutral at Redi-Cut (Stark) and it immediately brightened up the room.

We hadn’t gotten new bedding since we moved to CT so I called on Dancia Rose at The Monogram Studio to create a simple ivory on white design.

And the girls room had a carpet that looked like it had lived through a war. It was bad enough that I didn’t even take a “before” picture. My favorite part of their room’s makeover was framing some of their cutest pieces of art. It added such a fun pop of color to the walls which we gave a fresh coat of light pink paint.

I bought affordable frames from Michaels so I could change out art as the girls create new things. Colorful mats make them look more professional.

Hanging letters (a gift from their godmother) and monogrammed pillows makes it clear who sleeps where.

The girls from Smart Playrooms came back to create our own personal “library”. Now instead of books being crammed into shelves they are neatly organized in bins that the girls can flip through. We love knowing the books are organized by “type”. It’s so much easier to find a particular favorite.

And in John’s room we got the coziest wooly carpet. Both girls adore snuggling up in there and reading books while I change him. I also finally got a new chair after the last one that I wrote about here died a terribly tragic death. I must admit I like the new one much more.

The baby loves looking up at this sweet monkey as I change his diaper.

I am loving the Honest products – the anchor diapers are precious.

Some of the sweetest gifts we’ve received have been “boy” books. Trucks, trains, big rigs…

The art created by his sisters is on his shelf of special gifts.

This most precious gift was given to John by one of my dearest friends. I love that this prayer hangs above his sweet little head while he sleeps to protect him.

And there you have it! Nothing too drastic, but all changes that make me smile and enjoy our home more.
