On this rainy (will it ever end this year?!?) East Coast Sunday I thought I would brighten your day with one of the best installations I have seen in a long time. Derek Blasberg’s Upper East Side Apartment Renovation was recently featured in Architectural Digest and I swooned over every detail! Well done Virginia Tupker (we recently met through friends – and she lives out here in CT). The colors, the textures, the unique little details – all fabulous. Having worked for Larry Gagosian for many years, I particularly appreciated Blasberg’s art collection. It’s diverse and classic, while also being young and fun. I’ve included a few of the before pictures so you can really understand just how far a little creativity and a strong vision can take an old home with good bones.

The Living Room Before

I love the choice to get rid of the wrought-iron bannister. The younger chicer update is featured in the first picture of Blasberg.

The “his and his” monogrammed pillows are beyond!

The Master Bedroom Before

I love that they carried over the Ralph Lauren custom colored tattersall to the master closet.

This mirror is everything. From the outer hallway it looks like a wall mirror, but it’s actually a door that opens into his office!!!

The Guest Bedroom Before

The Dining Room Before
need to know the blue paint color!!
Great content and the makeover was awesome.
