Inspiration: From Hotel to Home

A beautiful hotel feels clean and fresh. A prefer a simple clutter-free space that allows room for relaxation and peace. With that in mind it’s not often that I feel inspired by hotel decor when working on my own home. Hotel interior design is usually less colorful and less layered than what I envision doing in our home space. Usually is the key word because this morning I came across the Halcyon Hotel while reading through blogs. The interior design feels fresh and the energy is spot-on, but it also has a layered and cozy feel to it at the same time. It has me very inspired as I think about color palettes for our bedrooms. The boutique hotel is located at Cabarita Beach, on the stunning coastline of Northern New South Whales. It’s only an hours drive from Brisbane, just 15 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport with Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar flying daily. Australia is a top 5 on my bucket list. This would be just the place to stay. I am thinking their art collage is the perfect inspiration I need when working on the walls of our living room. And the blue bedroom. I’m sold.
