Call me crazy – but the warm balmy weather we experienced in CT this past weekend had me feeling like spring is just around the corner. Spring means two things to me – lots of gorgeous greens sprouting up everywhere and time to open the pool. I recently saw this pool house in the Buckhead area of Atlanta featured on another blog and was equally swooning over the exteriors and interiors. The family felt the best choice to do the design was D. Stanley Dixon, who had created the main house for the previous owners. In keeping with his original design he chose a New England Dutch Colonial style. From the gambrel roof to the mix of tumbled Tennessee fieldstone and reclaimed granite – it is all exquisite. I love the crisp white painted wood siding and the machine-split cedar shake shingles on the pool house. And the stone garden shed with slate roof to the left of the chaise lounges is the perfect counter balance to the clean-lined pool house. When you enter the pool house it feels light and inviting – equally perfect for whipping up a batch of evening cocktails or snuggling into the sofa to read a great book just before an afternoon siesta. The grand tree with the swing which marks the entranceway to this summer haven seals the deal. I would happily move in if they are looking for tenants.
