For those of you with sons be grateful that a quick brush of the hair is all you need to do to get your kids looking in-line and ready for school. For parent’s of daughters the whole “What to do with that mess of hair every day?” question can be a bit more daunting. I can’t stand to see my girls running around the playground or classroom with hair falling in their face so most times I draw a hard line with hair-dos during the school year. On the weekend all bets are off and I let the girls go au naturel which is always their preference. Here are a few simple and pretty ways to keep them fresh faced and ready for all school activities!
Emma in her natural unkempt state!
Always always always brush before you get started. Taking out tangles is key to a long-lasting hairdo.
Braid Crown
Grab a portion of hair from the side part to the ear.
Divide section in three parts and braid – finishing off with a clear hair tie.
Pull braids together and use one hair tie to create a connected braid crown.
Clip a bow to the tail of the two braids for a more polished look.
Braided Pony Tail
Sweep hair from side part to just above the hair into one section and braid.
Finish braid off with a clear plastic hair tie and sweep braid and remaining hair into a pony tail.
Side Petite Pony Tail
Sweep hair from side part to just above the ear into one section. (Clearly Emma was starting to get bored…)
Finish with a hair tie and bow.
This one always keeps the hair out of their eyes!
French Braid
Gather center portion of hair from crown of head.
Begin to braid and gather a small section of hair from the side of the crown and add it to the section crossing over each time.
Finish braid with a clear plastic hair tie.
The most important tools – a Wet Brush and Goody clear plastic elastics.
