Cool Car: The Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Jeep

It’s almost like the universe heard my prayer. This may take some of you by surprise but I have a thing for cars. Fast ones, unique ones, classic ones… While driving last week up in Vermont I was day-dreaming about the type of rustic car I would like to have at our house there. I imagined cruising with a canoe strapped to the roof as we headed to the lake for a day of fishing and swimming… I was flip-flopping between a classic old pickup truck and a vintage wood paneled Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I (in my head as we have no plans to buy a new car) settled on the Wagoneer because the wood paneling had me at hello. Imagine my delight when I read one week later that Jeep is re-releasing the Wagoneer. Woot woot! The original was released in 1963 and was on the market until 1991. There are very few details being released about the new version so far but the company plans to show it at this Fall’s biennial showcase in Vegas. The car will then hit markets in 2018. I for one can’t wait to see more – although in my heart I’d much prefer to get one refurbished from 1963. Let’s hear it for the original Woody.

  1. The wood panel ones really don’t look that bad. I dig em.
