Best Books: Here We Are

It has been far too long since I have done a children’s book review, so today I present to you Here We Are. And since books are amongst my favorite gifts to give children – this one is perfect as a Christmas gift. And it is especially good for the parents of a new baby. THIS BOOK! Such sweet messaging about our planet and ourselves. Oliver Jeffers is one of my favorite illustrators (you know his work from cult favorite The Day the Crayons Quit), and his storytelling is on par with his artistic talent too.

The pages are full of beautiful images – great for “I Spy” as well.

People in many shapes and sizes…

We all look different.

But we are all people! *Swoon. YES!!!!!!!!

This is JT’s favorite page for obvious reason. #cavemanchronicles

Jeffers seems to hit that delicate balance of honesty about the pace in which we live these days, while also encouraging the reader to take it all in.

I don’t know about you, but I think this message resonates with all of us. You’re never alone. Here we come December. I feel more ready for you after reading this book. 😉
